Set on the edge of the beautiful green and cricket pitch is the Village Hall, one of the most valuable assets of the village, and centre of the community
History It used to be East Bradenham School until it closed on 18th February 1949.
Meetings took place to see if was possible to change its use to a Village Hall and it was soon purchased for £300. In order to adapt it for use as a Village Hall it received a £500 grant and much fundraising ensued. The hall had to be connected up to the electricity supply as whenit was a school it had none. Lighting and heating were provided along with a kitchen, new floor etc and it was finally opened on Friday 18th May 1951.
Since then there has been numerous face lifts; heating, lighting, decorating, extending and re-rendering. Recently, more alterations made it accessible to wheel chair users and it has become a central focal point of the village with regular use by village clubs and pre-school, making it a very valuable asset to our village.
Hire The Village Hall is available for hire for parties, meetings, film shows etc. In 1951 you could hire the hall for 5/- if you lived in the village, and 10/- if not.
Prices have inevitably gone up since then,
Village Organisations can hire it for £10 and events run by Village Organisations only cost £25. Parishioners of Bradenham can hire it for £40,
And a cost of £50 to those persons not resident in the village.
